A Study for Correlation between Social Supports & Stress Coping of Teen Aged Students


Abstract
The study was done for the purpose of analysing the relationship between social support, stress coping of teen aged students.
The subjects in this study were a sample of 166 students selected from the three high school located is C city.
The data were collected through questionaires from november 7th to november 12th in 1988.
The instruments used for this study was the social support scale developed by pack, the stress coping scale developed by jalowiec & powers.
Analysis of data was done by use of t-test, ANOVA, pearson correlation coefficient. The result of this study were as follows;
1. General characteristics influencing the social support were school characteristics, attitude of living, actual living conditions, relationship with parents (P <.05).
2. General characteristics influencing the stress coping were number of family, plan after the graduation (P <.05).
3. There was a correlation between the social support & the stress coping (P < .05).
